String orchestra - Cello 4/4 - Philipp Dangas

String orchestra - Cello 4/4 [Chord combinations]

General information about chord combinations with the cello

The division of the cello section allows the middle voice chords of the string section to be performed. The prerequisite for this is the employment of the violas with other tasks, and the violins. The sound power and sound substance of the cello allows a fourfold division of the cello group. The balance of the overall sound of the stringed instrument does not have to be impaired.

Example of the chord combinations [cello-double bass]

A prime example in "A Hero's Life" by Richard Strauss. In this example score by Richard Strauss, the double division of the cellos and the double basses is shown.
